What we check first

The Audi issues a specialist knows by heart.

These are the well-documented, high-frequency faults on Audi platforms. Whether yours has them depends on the year, engine and mileage, which is what the diagnostic is for.

  • Timing chain tensioner on early 2.0T

2008 to 2013 EA888 engines can rattle on cold start when the tensioner fails. Caught early it is a tensioner and guides. Ignored, it is an engine.

  • Water pump and thermostat housing

Plastic housings seep coolant at the seam. A sweet smell after a drive or slow coolant loss is the tell. We replace the assembly and pressure test.

  • Carbon buildup on direct injection

Intake valves coke up by 80k to 100k miles, costing power and idle quality. Walnut blasting restores it without opening the engine.
