What we check first
The Subaru issues a specialist knows by heart.
These are the well-documented, high-frequency faults on Subaru platforms. Whether yours has them depends on the year, engine and mileage, which is what the diagnostic is for.
Head gaskets on older 2.5 engines
EJ25 engines through about 2011 can seep coolant or oil at the head gasket. We confirm with a combustion test before recommending the job.
Oil consumption on FB engines
Some 2011 to 2015 FB20 and FB25 engines use oil. We measure it honestly over an interval and advise from data.
CVT and wheel bearings
CVT fluid on schedule and a listen for humming bearings at every service keep an Outback quiet and alive.
