BMW
BMWs reward owners who fix the small leak before it becomes the big one. Most of what we see on N20, N55, B48 and B58 engines is predictable, and cheap when caught early.

What we check first
The BMW issues a specialist knows by heart.
These are the well-documented, high-frequency faults on BMW platforms. Whether yours has them depends on the year, engine and mileage, which is what the diagnostic is for.
Oil filter housing and valve cover gaskets
Both harden with heat cycles. The housing gasket drips onto the serpentine belt, which can pull the belt into the crank seal. We replace both together when the first one goes.
Cooling system plastics
Water pump, thermostat and expansion tank are plastic and age out between 60k and 100k miles. In Texas heat we check them at every oil service and replace as a set.
Charge pipe and boost leaks on turbo engines
The factory plastic charge pipe cracks under summer heat and boost. Symptoms are a soft throttle and a drivetrain warning. An aluminum replacement ends it.
